United States President Donald Trump has confirmed that American negotiators will travel to Islamabad, Pakistan, for the next round of high-stakes talks with Iran, signaling a critical moment in ongoing geopolitical tensions.

Speaking on Sunday, Trump expressed confidence that a peace agreement could be reached but issued a stark warning to Tehran over alleged ceasefire violations.

“It will happen. One way or another — the nice way or the hard way,” Trump said, emphasizing that the US is prepared for all outcomes.

Strong Warning to Iran

Trump accused Iran of committing “serious violations” during the recently agreed two-week ceasefire and warned of severe consequences if negotiations fail.

In a post on Truth Social, he stated:

  • The US is offering a “fair and reasonable deal”
  • Failure to agree could lead to direct military strikes
  • Key infrastructure like power plants and bridges could be targeted

This marks one of the strongest public warnings yet amid the ongoing crisis.

JD Vance Will Not Attend Talks

Trump clarified that Vice President JD Vance will not be part of the Islamabad negotiations, despite earlier reports suggesting otherwise.

According to Trump:

  • The decision is purely based on security concerns
  • The Secret Service could not arrange logistics in time
  • He reiterated that “JD’s great,” dismissing speculation of internal issues

Earlier, senior officials had hinted that Vance might lead the delegation.

Islamabad Under Tight Security Lockdown

As preparations for the talks intensify, Islamabad is already witnessing heavy security measures:

  • Hotels hosting delegations have been cleared of guests
  • Several universities have shifted to online classes
  • Major roads are expected to be closed
  • Entry of heavy traffic into the city has been restricted

Authorities are preparing for the arrival of multiple international delegations, signaling the importance of these negotiations.

High Stakes for Global Stability

The upcoming talks come amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, including:

  • Attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz
  • Rising oil supply concerns
  • Increased military posturing by both sides

The Islamabad negotiations could play a decisive role in determining whether the situation moves toward diplomatic resolution or further escalation.

Conclusion

With strong rhetoric from Washington and heightened security in Pakistan, all eyes are now on Islamabad. Whether diplomacy prevails or conflict escalates will depend heavily on the outcome of these critical negotiations.
